The 5th Line 5k Race

The 5th Line 5K presented By OhioHealth will “Finish On Center Ice” of Nationwide Arena on January 23, the Columbus Blue Jackets and M3S Sports announced today.

The 5th Line 5K is a Columbus Blue Jackets-themed 3.1 mile run / walk that will celebrate Fitness, Hockey and the Winter Season.

The 5th Line 5K will be the first major road race to finish inside a National Hockey League arena.

“We can't wait to celebrate the 3,000 participants in the 5th Line 5K with a finish on Center Ice of Nationwide Arena,” said David Babner, race director of M3S Sports. “This will be the first time in the country that a road race has finished on center ice of a National Hockey League area.”

The 5th Line 5K will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Nationwide Arena, home of the Columbus Blue Jackets. Participants will take a tour of downtown Columbus and the Arena District before finishing inside the arena. The Post-Race Party will be held on the arena's main concourse.

The 5th Line 5K is limited to the first 3,000 runners and walkers. Participants will receive a Columbus Blue Jackets-themed Official Finisher's Medal and a Columbus Blue Jackets-themed Long Sleeve Gender Specific Technical Race Shirt.

The 5th Line 5K will kick off the Columbus Blue Jackets Winter Park presented by Worthington Industries, a month-long celebration of the winter season that will be held at McFerson Commons across the street from Nationwide Arena. Winter Park will be highlighted by an NHL-sized ice rink that will be open for 31 days of public skating, hockey and a variety of community events.

The NHL All-Star 5K Race is a partnership between the Columbus Blue Jackets and M3S Sports, a Columbus-based sports marketing and management company.
